Among wines, grapes, vineyards and barrels: a wedding in a wine cellar

There are periods of time that define us, environments that make us feel at home and landscapes that transport us with just one glance. This is what happened to our bride and groom of the day, at the bodegas de Francisco Gómez.

It was for this reason that they chose this venue to celebrate their big day; a wedding in modern, active wine cellars where the main values are quality and the environment.

The guests were witnesses to this, surrounded by barrels and whilst walking around the venue they enjoyed both the indoor and outdoor spaces during the ceremony, the banquet, and even the disco!

If you also would like to hold your wedding in some vineyards, keep reading this article until the end!

An altar with many flowers

Along the path down the aisle there were wooden seats on both sides so that the guests could participate in the event, the same for the altar which consisted of a large wooden bench for the bride and groom, a lectern and a large barrel accompanied by flowerpots.

The red and white roses, the hydrangeas, the dahlias and the green leaves were the main event for the bouquets, from Arlet Artesanía Floral, who make up a large team of professionals and gave each flower and each petal a special meaning for the married couple. They even have an online shop!

A wine-themed banquet

The tables for the banquet were decorated to match the rest of the ceremony: with large bowls made from gold tin, amongst candles and bunches of grapes as centrepieces with golden cutlery and wicker placemats.

A variety of invitations

The invitations, made by Tuinvi Creativa, were the most original and a souvenir to keep forever, as inside, they truly captured the essence of the wedding venue: The Bodegas Francisco Gómez.

Inside the envelopes there was beautiful artwork, in black and white. The invitations had the initials of the bride and groom with tassels and lace to decorate.

Brides with dresses made to measure

The bride, dressed by Yolanda Novias, was wearing a fully embroidered dress with mesh, and a belt at the waist made from blush pink satin.

The bottom half was made from a simple fabric that rested on an enormous train of tulle, with the back of the dress kept secure by a thin line of buttons.

To add a touch of colour, bride wore red boots that perfectly matched the red roses in her bouquet.

Did you know that if you would like an exclusive dress for your wedding, at Yolanda Novias they design it for you? Even if you don’t know exactly what you are looking for, they will accompany you throughout the process in order to create your dress with a large combination and variety of textiles until it suits you perfectly.

The makeup artist was Natalia Fuentes, a professional from Alicante who gave the bride ombre pink eyeshadow with a black smoke together with eyeliner, and for the lips she put on a soft, natural pink.

The hairstyle was at the hands of Bionda Estilistas, who, along with bride, came to the conclusion that a low ponytail with a side fringe would be the best option for this magical day.

The groom was dressed by Garrido Ceremonias in a suit with a brown blazer that matched perfectly the colour of the wine at the cellar. He had black lapels and a black bowtie together with a white shirt and a grey waistcoat.

Every photo was a dream

You couldn’t miss the wedding photoshoot throughout the wine cellar venue, together with its barrels and bottles, as well as in the olive mill where they make the oils with the press, the boiler and the chutes.

The Wedding Planner Natalia Ortiz took care immensely of every little detail so that, once again, this wedding turned our perfect. Tell us your idea!

Theme Wedding inspired by Games of Thrones

Game of Thrones is much more than a series, it has recently turned into a style and trend followed and inspired by many people, among which couples for their wedding celebration.

The best medieval sceneries to hold this kind of celebration are usually castles, like the Castell de Tous, the one chosen by our couple. This huge castle with more than a hundred years of history features gardens and interior rooms, all perfectly rehabilitated for this very medieval day.

The Castell de Tous is located in Barcelona, and its huge open spaces, smaller intimate corners and different atmospheres make it the perfect venue to celebrate a themed wedding inspired by Game of Thrones.

Castel Tous

Our couple’s wedding ceremony took place in the big inner courtyard with incredible sights. The place featured a series of white chairs for the guests and a comfortable sofa for the couple next to the altar.

For the aperitif, a small perfectly equipped table had been placed outside. However, the reception took place inside in the inner room with stone-walls, enabling us to step inside the universe of Game of Thrones whilst enjoying the wonderful sights from the top of the Castell de Tous thanks to its huge natural light entries.

The decoration for the outside table perfectly followed the style of the famous series: candles and chandeliers, books, forged bowls, and a huge number of glasses and leaves accompanied by orange flowers.

As for the floral decoration, NUS took care of it. The way to the altar was decorated by small bouquets in various types of pink mixed with green leaves, which had been placed along the way in a very beautiful way. In contrast, the altar was covered by flower bouquets which had been placed on the couple’s sofa with orange, pink and white tone flowers.

It is worth mentioning the simplicity of the bride’s bouquet, made up of white flowers surrounded by lots of green leaves, in perfect imitation with the rest of the environment and decoration.

As far as the reception and the gastronomy of this special day are concerned, Espai Gastronomia was in charge of the catering, providing both a creative and seasonal products based cuisine.

As for the couple’s style, the bride stood out with her two different dresses styles, one with transparent adjusted sleeves, lace showing off her back and a small tail, and another butterfly-sleeve dress with embroidery and lace also exposing her back.

The bride’s make-up, hairstyle and jewels all had a very special elegance and simplicity with her elegant half-tied ponytail and tiara and her smoked-shadows make-up in nude tones. This wonderful work was realized by One Mirror Please.

As for the groom, he opted for a jacket suit in navy blue tones, accompanied by a white shirt and a bow tie in lighter blue and white tones and elegant black shoes for his footwear.

These designs were the work of Jeny Zegarra and Jordi Anguera.

The organizer of this beautiful wedding was Weddings and Events by Natalia Ortiz.

Extraordinary emotion at Nick and Shelly’s wedding

Madrid, the city which will help you bring to life any of the crazy ideas that have gone through your mind; this city that offers you the opportunity to live unforgettable experiences for the rest of your life.

It may be because of all its various districts, its restaurants filled with cheerful people, its history or its culture, but Madrid makes everyone who goes there feel like they feel like they were in the stars.

This is why the city has also become a great wedding destination, both for nationals and foreign people. It is a compromise full of class, style and a lot of glamour. And if you don’t think it is the case, say it to Shelly and Nick, our bride and groom who decided to celebrate their wedding in Madrid.

Climbing large stairs, walking on big carpets and among wonderful rooms of the time, such as its halls with French pool tables, the majestic dance halls and the singular architectural elements. Don’t you think this place is a complete work of art ideal to get married?

The couple did not only chose this architectural emblem for the ceremony, but also for the banquet, during which they were able to taste the best dishes in a dining room lined with wood, crystal and bronze chandeliers, with scenic canvases of the time and even with the original furniture of 1910!

For the decoration of these spaces, the simplicity and classicism portrayed by the white flowers bouquets with green leaves arranged on the altar was more than enough.

The same white roses with green leaves made up the centerpieces of the table, placed on a bronze tray and accompanied by two large white candles which had been placed inside large crystal glasses.

On the table of the bride and groom, the centerpiece stood out, showing off the four letters of LOVE in red, thus differing from those of the rest of the guests.

The tablecloths and napkins were also in white tones, as were the crockery, with the exception of the silver cutlery and the crystal glasses.

Some details that made the difference were the menu envelope, in kraft paper, and the guests’ welcome sign on a large wooden board, also decorated with white roses and green leaves characteristic of the big day, with the names of the bride and groom and the date of their union. It was also the case for the table that had been arranged for the guests to leave their letters or take their souvenir cork bottle-top.

As for the bride’s main dress, it consisted of a mermaid cut dress and an elegant tail, completely embroidered with floral motifs, and with a heart-shaped neckline that also left her back uncovered. This design was chosen for the ceremony and the banquet.

But Shelly continued to shine! For the afterparty, she chose a completely different design: a dress full of bronze sequins that formed a pattern on a white background, with a v-neck and fine straps. Perfect to dance all night long!

For both looks, the hairstyle was the same: a low bun with two loose hair strands on both sides of the face. The updo was decorated with a row of white and pink flowers and small green leaves.

The bronze tone of Shelly’s second dress perfectly matched Nick, the groom,’s suit, who chose a brown jacket suit with flap details and darker brown pockets, like the pants. All accompanied by a bow tie in this same color.

The photographs taken by Aljosa Petric made the result very funny, and shows really well that emotion and laughter played a major part in the wedding.

Natalia Ortiz was the Wedding Planner who made everything possible and lead to the perfect result the bride and groom had always dreamed of. At Weddings and Events by Natalia Ortiz we keep on fulfilling dreams!

Long live love!

A wedding in Fain Viejo, among flowers and Andalusian wildlife

Andalusia, this land featuring a golden sun and offering the best tapas of the country, corners full of history and a splendid olive grove hacienda like Fain Viejo.

The option which one of our couples has decided to go for to celebrate their wedding. Is there any better place than the heart of Andalusia for it?

Fain Viejo is a completely rehabilitated estate decorated with many works of art and antiquities of incalculable value with spaces perfectly conditioned for you to celebrate your wedding in the finest environment.

The venue used to be a monastery, a residence and even a prison, but the actual country house has managed to keep elements of all these histories and combine them with modern and actual elements in its great halls, dining rooms, bedrooms, windmill, library and galleries.

But the success of your event will rest in the five hectares of gardens full of olive trees, fig trees, orange trees, palm trees and pomegranates that accompany several ponds of multicoloured fish, geese, pheasants and peacocks.

Can you think about a better place to say “Yes, I do” to your partner? Well, it certainly didn’t occur to Cristina and her fiancé, who went to Cadiz, or more precisely Arcos de la Frontera, to walk towards the altar.

The decoration for this big day was marked by simplicity and sobriety, with a huge rustic carpet that stretches from the corridor to the altar. A line of white chairs had been placed on each side for the guests whilst the couple took place on a large white marble bench which featured two white cushions in order to match with the chairs.

In front of them, was a vintage openwork tablecloth and a large bouquet of fuchsia flowers on a silver vase that stood out from the rest of the decoration.

Florenea, the company who took care of the flowers, set the colorful touch thanks to small bouquets of paniculatas decorating the chairs on the way to the altar. Flowers resembling the bride’s bouquet had also been placed on both sides and used for the tables’ centerpiece.

The bride’s bouquet consisted of flowers in deep red tones, among which the calas, carnations and paniculatas accompanied by green leaves.

It is worth noting that the reception decoration followed the same rustic and vintage line as the ceremony, but this time, in blue tones: blue and white plates on wicker plates, blue and transparent glasses, silver cutlery and white napkins, on which a small branch of rosemary was placed.

As for the dress which Cristina was wearing, it was signed Maria Jesus Dominguez, a brand specialized in wedding dresses and their accessories, and consisted in a princess-cut pattern with a sharp V-neckline and a clasp on the chest.

The pattern consisted of 3/4 tulle sleeves finished off in a lace similar to the one found on the top of the dress, embroidered with some sequins, and with a smooth pattern of tulle. As for the neckline, it showed off the whole back, ending with a closure of buttons arranged in a fine line.

The bride decided to accompany her look with a simple veil of tulle along with an elegant and classic hairdo in the shape of a low bow and several loose locks on both sides of the face that complemented perfectly with a jewelry headdress in shades of bronzes and roses.

Rosario was the artist of this fabulous hairstyle as well as the simple makeup, which consisted of a pink base and more fuchsia lips, with eyes delineated in black and eyelashes that further intensified his look.

And the groom did not fall short, because the clothes, from the boutique Como Un Señor, fit him like a glove. A navy blue jacket suit and trousers combined with a baroque print vest, matching the top of the flaps of the jacket. All of this accompanied by a basic white shirt and a tie of the same baroque print, with a jewel at the center of the tie that brought a touch of supreme elegance.

Natalia Ortiz was in charge of the development and organization of this wedding in Andalusian lands, working hand in hand with the photographers Samuel and Helen, who captured the couple’s happiest moments during their great day.

Everyone is talking about the hidden treasure in Faín Viejo, are you ready to find it? At Weddings and Events by Natalia Ortiz we help you!

Why is that? For the island’s climate, the excellent communication, a gastronomy that won’t leave anyone indifferent, the odor of the sea or the views on the mountains. It is an environment with a multitude of paradisiac and original options.

Do you really need anything else?

Christina and Clayton, our American couple, had it clear

Mallorca wins records in being one of the most demanded places for foreigners (and even celebrities!) to get married in total intimacy.

And this is exactly what Christina and Clayton did, set sail for the Mallorcan island with their six guests all the way from the United States to celebrate their intimate wedding and tell themselves “yes I do” with the purest tranquility, peace and comfort.

How the wedding went

As everyone already knows, the Mediterranean climate of mallorca is envied by everyone, since it promises great temperatures during any period of the year.

This was the case for our couple, who had an extremely sunny during which they could walk round without any unpleasant surprises and in total serenity around the island’s cobblestones, go down its stairs, cross its stone arches and reach the altar by walking through a large bright green garden.

Here, their guests were already waiting for them and the ceremony began with incomparable sights on the mountains, among trees and large decorative jars.

The decoration, simple and classic

The gardens, with their bright green color were decorated with white flowers along with a few green leaves, which had been placed on large white jars as well as in the bride, Christina,’s bouquet.

Around the rest of the venue, golden chairs with white cushions and golden lanterns with veils had been placed, whilst live music was played.

On the tables, cocktails and tapas were present in great quantity. The tables matched the overall style as they were decorated with white tablecloths, golden cutlery and chandeliers.

The wedding invitations were also in the same style, green leaves drawings on a white background.

The couple

Christina took some time to relax before the ceremony as she received all the necessary care to get her ready fo the big moment.

She was wearing a dress with a heart cleavage, with embroideries and an A-cut, which, with her beautiful silhouette, made her look simply stunning. A very Balearic style. Just like his loose long hair, which provided the freshness that the island conveys.

The groom went out of the ordinary, with a navy blue jacket-suit which reminded the crystalline waters of the Balearic Islands, put the final touch of elegance.

The reception’s savors

If there is one gastronomy in this world that is full of colors, savors, creativity as well as being healthy, it is the Spanish gastronomy, and of course, the Mallorcan one.

And this archipelago has learned how to adapt to the modern area without losing the previous generations’ essence nor its traditional and cultural dishes, which you can still savor today.

And at our American couple’s wedding didn’t lack of these incomparable dishes.

Like you have been able to see by yourself, Mallorca offers a plenty of various options for any type of couple: bohemian, classical, rustic, modern and romantic.

And it is clear that whoever chooses to celebrate their wedding in Mallorca will not regret it, and will keep this day in their memory for ever, both for its importance as for its golden sunset.

For her special day, Elianny chose a simple, but beautiful dress by Jesús Peiró.

Dress with thin straps, square cleavage and with embroidered lace, tender and thin, that gives special elegance to the bride. A falling skirt decorated with soft flower motives ends with a small tail in the mermaid style, convenient and functional.

The original and distinguishing touch of the style is the bouquet created by Monceau Fleurs. The bouquet is based on green leaves and vary balls of different shades in the natural cotton and with small flowers that reflect the style of locations, fabrics of various materials, textures and flowers, and create a harmonious point of contact. Spain Elopements

Here at Weddings and Events by Natalia Ortiz, we love sharing examples of weddings we have organised with you. Our wedding planner is a true expert in the area of planning Spain elopements and this is reflected in the portfolio of her work. In this article, we want to share with you some examples of beautiful weddings we have carried out in Spain – let’s go!

Weekend wedding in Madrid

We organised an elopement based in Madrid for the lovely couple Thomas and Silje. Their wedding was spread over a weekend, celebrating with their closest family and friends in the centre of Madrid. They invited 10 guests, which made the wedding a very intimate celebration, which was very personal for them.

Let’s talk about what they wore. Silje wore a spectacular dress with a V shaped neckline. It had cap sleeves which were lace, and the top of the dress was also made from lace, then it flowed into a smooth pleated straight skirt – so flattering! She opted for an elegant updo for her hair, and her bouquet was composed of pure white flowers and some greenery. Thomas looked very smart in a white shirt with a navy dicky bow and navy trousers. His head was freshly shaven for a very clean look. Gorgeous!

The style of the wedding was light & bright, pure and romantic. The ceremony took place in the Embassy of Norway, followed by the reception in a restaurant. They chose to spend the afternoon exploring the city, and the day ended with an amazing dinner.

The celebrations continued the day after the wedding, where more activities were done in the city centre – including seeing a flamenco show and a masterclass!!

The wedding was exactly as they hoped and we couldn’t have been any more happy with how the day went. Congratulations to Thomas and Silje!

Female elopement in Girona

Now an example of an elopement in Spain that we organised for the fabulous couple Julia and Alina in Girona. The wedding took place outside, immersed in nature and it was very romantic. The wedding had splashes of colour thanks to the pink and orange tones in the flowers – it was beautiful!

Both brides wore amazing and elegant white dresses, with some similarities regarding colour and fabric style, which made them look in harmony with each other, but the differences made them unique and reflected each of their personalities. They both looked stunning.

Alicante beach wedding

Let’s continue with a beach elopement that we organised for a stunning couple in Alicante. The style of the ceremony was rustic, thanks to the wooden altar and ceremony table, with romantic elements provided by the light flowers with tones of pink, light yellow and peach.

The bride chose two dresses, the first had a large skirt and long train, and the bodice was made from lace, with some see-through parts. The second dress was similar in the way that it also had a lace bodice with some transparent elements, but the skirt was straight and smaller this time. As for the groom, he opted for a a black and white suit – simple and classy!

We organised the photoshoot to be on a beautiful estate by the sea and on the beach too, and the gorgeous sky provided a stunning backdrop.

Elopement in Catalonia

We organised a stunning, traditional elopement in Catalonia for the couple Angelina and Sergei. It took place in a medieval style estate, with an extremely romantic and warm ambiance thanks to the use of lit candles.

Regarding the style of the bride and groom, the bride wore an incredible, decorative dress with a belt in the centre and a V shaped neckline – it was gorgeous and complimented her beautifully. Sergei wore a blue suit with a subtle check design and a white shirt, he looked very smart.

It was a truly romantic and unforgettable day, and both bride and groom were so happy!

Fairytale elopement in Madrid

This Elopement took place in La Quinta de Illescas in Toledo, which is around 30 km from Madrid. This estate is perfect for weddings, and the ceremony took place in a room with many glass windows, which made it a bright ceremony. The ceremony was beautifully decorated with white flowers with some greenery for the aisle and altar. Floral centrepieces dominated the banquet room and white and green became the predominant colours for the wedding, which gave it a fresh feel!

Elopement in Tenerife

We organised this gorgeous elopement for Anita and Alexey, a Russian couple, in Hotel the Ritz-Carlton Abama in Tenerife. Anita had always dreamed of a colourful wedding, and having a wedding by the coast gave her this: spectacular views of the sea and sky, and green, blue and yellow colours.

Anita chose 2 dresses for the wedding: one for the ceremony, the other to dance in. Her first dress was long, white and decorated with small rhinestones, and her second dress was short with sequins. As for Alexey, he wore black trousers and a light blue jacket for the ceremony, and white trousers and a black jacket for the dance – a stylish wedding!

Salamanca elopment in Castle Buen Amor

This elopement took place in Buen Amor castle for the couple Irina and Anton. This castle has a medieval style thanks to its antique furniture and large halls, perfect for a traditional wedding. The ceremony took place in the castle’s courtyard, and there was an iron altar surrounded by floral and miscellaneous medieval decorations.

Irina wore a strapless dress with a skirt decorated with small flowers and a train, she had a flower in her hair to match the ones on her dress. Anton kept it simple with a white shirt and loose fitting blue trousers. It was a perfect medieval wedding!

Elopement in Mallorca

Dmitry and Aurike celebrated their stunning elopement on a beach in Mallorca. The landscape where the ceremony took place was beautiful: the blue sea contrasting with the white stones floor of the ceremony. The ceremony area was simple yet elegant, decorated with a few lovely flower arrangements.

The bride’s outfit was unique and gorgeous – she wore a white lace bodice with a pink skirt, which was a very pretty, romantic look, as well as modern thanks to the pink skirt.

The couple made good use of the private beach of the hotel where the wedding was held for a very aesthetic photoshoot, a beautiful day.

Toledo elopement

For Anjelica and Remo we organised the wedding of their dreams in Vinales Cigarral Santa Maria, Toledo. It was an outdoor wedding – both ceremony and banquet were al fresco as the landscape was too spectacular not to make use of for the wedding.

The banquet was set up on a rustic style wooden table, with flowers and a candelabra for decoration. The style of the banquet went perfectly with the landscape. Wine was an important feature too, as there was a vineyard at the venue.

The decoration and style of the wedding and the bride and groom looked amazing, a fabulous day filled with smiles.

Elopement in a lavender field

Imagine having your wedding photoshoot in a beautiful lavender field and how aesthetically stunning the photos would be. Well, that’s exactly what we did for this wedding and the result was incredible!

Katerina, the bride, wrote a country-style dress to match the countryside landscape she was in and she matched her dress with light brown boots and a straw hat. Andrey wore beige pants with a white shirt and black suspenders, and like Katerina he also matched perfectly with the surroundings. On the photos they stood out perfectly against the lavender fields – a perfect result.

Asturias elopement

This elopement was between Kaci and Dave and took place in a castle in Asturias, surrounded by mountains and in the heart of nature. The castle’s amazing stone stairs provided a perfect place for their wedding photos, and so did the landscape; the mountains and lake providing a breathtaking backdrop for this set of photos.

Kaci and Dave looked as fabulous as the surroundings. Kaci in a gorgeous, embellished dress with lots of detailing, and Dave in an extremely smart blue suit with brown shoes. A lovely wedding for a lovely couple.
